Ovens
Single oven – One oven space, usually combined with
a grill. Single ovens can go either at eye level in a tall oven housing,
or underneath the worktop in a single oven housing.
Built-In Double Oven - Two oven spaces that may also
have a combined grill. Normally fitted into a tall oven housing, or
alcove.
Built-Under Double Oven – A double oven that is fitted
under a kitchen worktop.
Fan Oven/ Fan Assisted Oven - Has a fan built in to
the oven cavity to ensure there is an even spread of heat throughout
the oven. Even distribution of heat usually reduces cooking time and
allows for batch baking.
Conventional Oven – An oven without a fan, using heat
produced from elements top and bottom of the cavity or both sides.
Multifunction Oven – A single oven with multiple functions.
This type of oven can be used as a conventional oven, fan- assisted
oven, Grill or fan-assisted grill.
Pyroclean - A cleaning process which superheats the oven to
500 degrees C and burns off any deposits from baking, roasting and grilling.
Hydro-Clean - An aid for cleaning your oven, ideal
for softening greasy residue. Pour ¾ of a pint of water and some washing
up liquid into the base of the oven. The oven heats up to 60 degrees
producing steam to loosen any grease deposits.
Hobs
Induction – An Induction hob has an electro magnet
(induction coil) positioned below the glass. When the hob is switched
on the coil will cause an induction field and heat the pan placed on
the surface. The pan must be made of ferrous metal (if a magnet sticks
the pan is suitable).
Ceramic Hob – A ceramic hob radiates heat from under
the surface.
Halogen – This type of hob heats using a strong halogen
light and radiant heat.
Flame Failure - A thermostatic sensor, in the event
that a flame is extinguished, the sensor will detect that no heat is
generated and will automatically shut off the gas supply.
Wok Burner - A high speed gas burner.
Hoods
Chimney – A designer extractor usually finished in Stainless
Steel or glass can be extracted or recirculated.
Canopy – A canopy hood is designed to be installed
into a chimney breast or bespoke feature.
Integrated – Usually installed between two units,
is concealed by adding a co-ordinated kitchen door on the front.
Conventional - Freestanding extractor with glass/plastic
visor.
Recirculation - The best way to remove odours and
steam is to extract the air out of the room using ducting. If this is
not possible, you can use charcoal filters for air purification which
then re-enters the room via an opening in the hood.
Microwaves
Built-in – A microwave built in to a fitted kitchen
with casing in the style of kitchen furniture.
Combination - Simultaneously uses heat and microwave
technology
Refrigeration
Built-in – For installation into tall kitchen unit, designed
to take co-ordinating kitchen furniture.
Built-under – For installation under kitchen worktop,
designed to take co-ordinating kitchen furniture.
Monobloc - Fridge freezer with single compressor,
for installation into tall kitchen unit and designed to take co-ordinating
kitchen furniture.
Dishwashers
Fully Integrated – Designed to take co-ordinating
kitchen furniture, with the control panel concealed.
Semi Integrated – A dishwasher with a visible control
panel fitted behind a drawer line door.
Aqua Stop - Provides leakage protection so that the
inlet and outlet hoses are protected should a leakage occur. Also an
independent safety valve will prevent additional water entering the
dishwasher.
Laundry
Reduced Iron - This option spins at intervals, gently
tumbling the load during the spinning cycle. At the end of the spin
phase a gentle rotating action keeps laundry free and fluffy.
Reduced Time - Reduces the time of a wash by 30-40%
saving time and energy.
Time Delay - Allows you delay the wash time, enabling
you to benefit from cheap rate electricity.
Condenser Dryer - Requires no venting outside, water
is collected in a container within the machine.
